I am a laboratory technician, have been at Aarhus University since January 2004 and joined the microsensor group in November 2018. I have previously been working with two different groups, both with research in microbiology. I am skilled in different fields in the laboratory and among others to be mentioned are protein chemistry, electrophoresis, DNA, PCR, cell work, molecular biology, microbiology.
I find sensors very interesting because in my opinion such a relatively simple thing as a sensor can provide important data and information that can help us understand complex matter in our surroundings.
I construct and help develop the different sensors. I guide students and guests in our laboratories and together with other laboratory technicians, I am responsible for the laboratories are equipped and always “up and running”.
Combining theory, praxis, and see how one’s skills can change pieces of glass and metals into something extraordinary. It is inspiring to go to work and to meet people with different backgrounds sharing the same view and excitement for this kind of environmental research.
I also find it very motivating that the sensor group is working so well together helping each other out in the laboratory.
It will provide instruments for measuring different factors in our environment and, hopefully, in the future help us take better care of our resources.
