Aarhus University Centre for Water Technology

WATEC is an interdisciplinary research centre focusing on developing solutions to local and global ‘Grand Challenges’.

Water is essential for life on Earth and is used for nutrient and waste transport and in heat regulation. As it contains nutrients and wastes, water may be associated with eutrophication or loss of valuable nutrients. Water can be in excess or in deficiency – both situations cause trouble.

WATEC works with municipal wastewater treatment, process control as well as with surface and ground water management and is also engaged in restoration of lakes, streams and riparian zones. The centre is an entry point for partners in industry and for the business community, both nationally and internationally.

Below you find the current WATEC research strategy and you can dive into the focus areas.
