Technical background

Senior laboratory technician working with sensors and micro-sensors for more than 20 years. Previously, I have worked for many years in Unisense and FertiliTech which is a spinoffs from the sensor laboratory at Aarhus University.

Why are you interested in sensors?

I find it exciting to make sensors which other people use as a valued analytical tool. The continued research on and development of new sensors and sensor types, makes it fascinating to go on work every day.

What is your main task in the sensor laboratory?

My most important task is to facilitate and organize the sensor laboratory. The microsensors are very sensible, fragile and difficult to make so in order to secure optimal sensor production and reliable measurements it is important that the lab is functioning and continuously is up and running.

What is the most interesting part in your research?

The most interesting part of my work is to develop new sensors and sensor types. I  appreciate working together with inspiring researchers and colleagues. A good relationship between people is important when your are working in a “nerdy” workspace like a sensor-lab.

Where will your work benefit?

Our sensors is used by many different people in various industries and scientific areas. The creation of Unisense A/S lead to a well driven business with high turnover and created many new jobs. It has been a successful company which caused an even more successful company called Vitrolife.
