Lively discussions at WATEC Annual Meeting

WATEC Aarhus University Centre for Water Technology strives to facilitate interdisciplinary research and collaboration with internal and external partners. Our WATEC Annual Meeting is an opportunity to stay updated on research activities within the centre as well as connect with other WATEC researchers and external partners.

After a cancelation in 2020, WATEC hosted a physical Annual Meeting September 16-17 2021 at Kystvejens Konferencecenter in Grenå. More than 50 participants joined the meeting consisting of WATEC researchers, the WATEC Advisory Board and industry partners. The Annual Meeting started with a welcome and status by Head of WATEC Peter Henriksen which was followed by inspirational talks from internal and external speakers. The afternoon was dedicated to networking which was kicked off by a One Minute Madness session followed by a poster session. Lively discussions were going on throughout the poster session, dinner and evening. The following day WATEC hosted a workshop on “The greatest water challenges” to generate new interdisciplinary research ideas. Participants were divided into groups based on the association with the WATEC clusters: natural water, piped water, land-water interactions, sensor technology and economics and management. Finally, WATEC management met with the WATEC Advisory Board.
